A Kind-of-bucket-list

Considering this week I actually have a blog idea, and that I’m
not rushing to write it (and due to the fact I was relatively social yesterday
and the day before) this week I’ve decided to write a kind-of-bucket-list. This is for all the things I’ve
always liked the idea of, but have been maybe too afraid to do, or didn’t have enough savings for before.
Writing this has made me realise there’s actually quite a lot of things I’ve never got around to doing.
This includes going to the theme park. Granted, if Paultons park or Lego land can be considered a theme park then I’ve been to two before – but I’ve never really been to a proper adult theme
park before with big rides, where I’m (hopefully) finally tall enough to get on the rollercoasters.
For some reason, I’ve never liked the idea of heading out and facing all
the rides before, but I feel like that mostly has something to do with my rational
fear of heights (especially when there are big drops involved). However, now
that I’m older, and have so far survived all the rides I’ve ever been on, I’m a bit
more excited to face the world of rollercoasters and theme parks.
Related to this is also my desire to visit a
local fair. Around where I live, there’s a stretch of green which is used about
three times a year as a small fairground set up. It looks so cool and driving
past it the other week I turned to my dad and said that I’d actually really
like to go (but, alas, I never did end up going
). Experiencing a fair is something I’ll have to reserve
for a friend that wants to go with me, or (and try and hold off laughing) any
future boyfriend I may be lucky enough to have.

Another thing on my kind-of-bucket-list is learning to
drive. So far I’ve had a total of three lessons, and I’m certainly not the
biggest fan. Despite this I’m apparently pretty good at driving, and so hopefully it won’t
take me too long to pass my test. I’m mostly learning out of practicality, and
so that I can buy my first car (which I seriously hope is going to be yellow because that would be super awesome).

Next, and I’m not sure if it can be put on a bucket
list exactly, is something I’m really excited about. In the near future, I would like to get a tattoo… Okay, I would like a good couple of tattoos, but I am currently only committed to one
of my ideas (which I think is going to look awesome but I know is going to cost a shit-ton
of money). I also know it’s going to hurt like hell, so in a way it’s holding
me back, but I’m trying to come to terms with the fact I don’t have much choice
but to face the pain if I want a tattoo… Hmm.

One of my (most likely) probably impossible points on my kind-of-bucket-list is meeting
my idol, and biggest inspiration when it comes to writing, Robert J. Crane. I would like to have the opportunity to let him know how much he has impacted my life and inspired me to follow a career in writing. Also, I would like to ask him to sign one
of his books for me, which he has previously mentioned he would be happy to do (if you scroll down far enough on my Instagram, you can find it). However, he does not live in the UK, and I get the feeling he probably won’t visit again for quite a while because,
as I’ve gathered from his books, does not
like the UK.

Anyway, moving on from that depressing point, let’s talk about another of my inspirations – which holds a firm place on my kind-of-bucket-list – music. In my life, I’ve
been to a total of one gig. That, for a now adult, seems pretty pathetic.
So, as a result, I would like to go to more gigs, or concerts –
however you want to phrase it – to support the artists I love. (You can find
these artists on my recent blog ‘Snooping on my Playlist’).  Sadly, most of the artist I like are from America
and so don’t often come over to the UK – therefore tickets are probably going to
be very hard to get a hold of, as well as pretty expensive.

As a result, I’m saving my money, which I feel like I should mention won’t just be used for gigs but also for tattoos, saving up for my first car, and eventually being able to financially support myself enough to move out of home.
